Music and Poetry
This interdisciplinary project brought together composers, actors and poets to create original works combining spoken word and live chamber music. Working with texts in the public domain alongside contemporary poetry, each piece explored the relationship between narrative and music, treating both elements as equal creative voices rather than placing music in a supporting role.

The project culminated in professional recordings with actors and members of the Guildhall Session Orchestra, encouraging participants to take an active role in shaping both the musical and dramatic interpretation of their chosen texts. By bringing together literature, performance and composition, the project explored a distinctive form of narrative storytelling beyond the conventions of film or theatre.
